Overview
Alohaaa, a Hawaiian-inspired quick service restaurant in British Columbia, required a bold and recognizable brand identity to stand out in a competitive QSR market.
The challenge was to create a vibrant and cohesive visual system that could capture the energy of a tropical brand while remaining adaptable across storefront, packaging, and customer-facing materials.
Direction & Approach
I developed a playful and energetic visual direction inspired by tropical culture, focusing on bold colour, expressive typography, and a lighthearted brand tone.
The goal was to create a brand that felt approachable and memorable, while clearly communicating freshness, flavour, and a sense of escapism.
System Thinking
The identity was built as a flexible visual system centered around a distinctive wordmark and a vibrant colour palette.
Supporting elements, including fruit-inspired graphics and bold backgrounds, were designed to create consistency across applications while allowing for variation across menu items, packaging, and in-store visuals.
Outcome
The final identity created a strong and recognizable brand presence, helping Alohaaa stand out with a bold and engaging visual language.
By combining a distinctive wordmark with a flexible visual system, the project delivered a memorable brand identity tailored for a fast-paced QSR environment.
